F1 2012 £8.49 on Steam

Recommended Posts

Personally speaking, I only play F1 2011 at a LAN. I'd bought 2010 and have about 2 hours on it. 2011 has about 30 hours from time at a LAN. Will I upgrade? Nope. For me its not worth the cost. Maybe if its in a £10 Steam Sale but I'm not paying full price for something I'll rarely use.

Bought alreay, really looking forward to this one and looking at the demo it's a big improvement a much higher focus on the gameplay rather than the appearance while not compromising the graphics.

I do enjoy a game at LAN and occasional games nights but never play it outside of that, will get eventually

I think a big pushing factor for me was…

  1. I like driving games a lot (bring on GRID 2)
  2. Steam says I’ve bought the game but Windows Live says I don’t. (in other words it’s bricked)

    1. Yes I’ve been through to both help desks for hours on end on now they’re both usless.

Due to an awesome friend ordering the 2 pack the moment it came out, we got it for £20 each.

The demo is obviously limited, but the have made the driving harder (no longer throw it in the corner and stomp the throttle)

Can't wait for the full version now.

Ill see what happens with epic events before I buy. I also see grid 2 is coming which for me was a great game.

When it hits 10-12 quid, I'll likely pick it up, but not until then.....just like I did with 2011....

Yes it runs on steamworks this time so with luck we should have less issues getting connected.

Just hope they have fixed the bugs i've seen in the demo, couldnt even run it for four days as it would drop back to desktop after the intro videos. Also seen it bluescreen once on my pc. :sob:

Also they have made big changes to the way a steering wheel feels in game.

But I will be up for either 2011 or 2012 at Epic 10.

Right so after having a weekend of playing F1 2012 it’s fair to say there are few changes on the visual or gameplay side (but then again we still race the same tracks each year in F1).

However when you really have a look into it the majority of the changes are in the gameplay itself. Compared to 2011 where the tracks are very flat and you can power into them, on 2012 you can really see the bumps on the straights and they do affect your car and too much power out of a corner well your out. (corner 3 Australia is like a skidpad)

As I see it 2012 is for someone who wants more of a challenge on the game. Intermediate in 2012 feels like Pro in 2011 from the changes and that’s just due to trying to stay on the track.

I think both Matt#2 and Jay could agree with this as we all struggled at times especially with the dynamic weather really affecting some of our races. (The weather report LIES)

If its more challenging than 2011 then its not for me as I prefer Trackmania / Grid and drifting around corners. Thanks for your review as its made up my mind to not buy 2012 ... Unless it appears in the Steam Xmas sale!

Not a problem I’m still messing about with it and getting better at driving. If you haen’t tried the demo I’d suggest doing so or see if anyone will let you play at LAN/lite if you go.

But I agree it’s not like Trackmania or Grid as much anymore.

On the other note…. GRID 2 next year!

/me squeels!

Just be happy that your not trying to play it using a G27 racing wheel. They have really messed up the settings for it, I've spent all weekend trying to pass day one of the new drivers tests. Everything from under-steering, not being able to get above 160mph, to DRS not working. Still haven't got it all sorted :(

No the game itself look good to me, just they have changes something in the wheel interface which means my F1 2011 setup doesnt work as expected.

All my issues seem to be down to the face that im getting constant breaking in game. :(

Been busy last few weeks but will get back to it later and have it all sorted :)

Blimey, it's a very "twitchy" drive using a 360 pad, it's going to make for some very interesting first corner action at LAN!

Till March 18th it says...

That's hit my LAN-play-only price threshold, so will be purchasing it tomorrow most likely.

Thought I'd let you all know.

epic24 seems so long ago and I haven't been back since. Having taken the 3v3 Rocket League tournament, I'm hungry for more.

      And so...

I have plans to return to epic27 with a new team behind me! I am incredibly excited as epic24 was my first taste of a LAN and I loved every minute of it. It's completely worth the 700 miles round trip and I'm ready to do it all over again!
