Wrestlemania 32 Discussion & Predictions

Recommended Posts

Thought for WM32 I'd kick off a bigger discussion thread as part of the build up rather than just the usual prediction thread, though we will include that as part of the discussions once there is an idea of the full card.

What was initially looking a bit dire is finally starting to shape up to be far more interesting. I'm assuming that Roadblock on Saturday changes nothing (it's only a network special), so the card as it stands so far is:

  • Triple H vs Roman Reigns (WWE World Heavyweight Championship)
  • Shane McMahon vs The Undertaker (Hell in a Cell Match - If Shane wins, he gains control of Raw)
  • Dean Ambrose vs Brock Lesnar (No Holds Barred Street Fight)
  • Charlotte vs Becky Lynch vs Sasha Banks (Triple Threat - WWE Divas Championship)

I don't know how they'll do it, but I've a sneaky feeling that Shane will win due to some sort of interference and prompt a huge shakeup of Raw. We've already seen in the last few weeks a lot more swearing (even from Vince) and authorised use of fake blood, so something is coming...

So yeah I'm really looking forward to Shanes match! I think there will be more than meets the eye. Toe to toe, even with Shanes speed - The Undertaker will still cause alot of problems for Shane. Though I really hope this goes through and they develop this story line further. Hopefully the Shane appearance isn't just a Wrestlemania thing!

The Triple Threat between Charlotte, Becky and Sasha Banks is shaping up as well. Though in terms of divas story lines I'm interested to see where the Brie / Lana feud goes. But in terms of really good mechanical wrestling the triple threat will be the one to watch!

I think in terms of other matches I assume we will see some mass Tag Team match - I mean, the Wyatts need to job to someone right?

ok so firstly I am ridiculously jealous of Dav just gonna get that off my chest :P then as for wrestle mania, I'm still feeling a bit Meh about it. Maybe the week running in to it I will be more excited but I feel that due to all the injuries and lack of talent at the moment these matches have all been seen so many times over the last few weeks. (excluding the Shane V Undertaker) We've seen Dean and Brock the only difference is they will beat each other to a bloody pulp because the style of match is different.

Becky v Sasha v Charlotte again seen this so much just lately, I'll be happy if the championship is taken away from Charlotte I suspect Sasha will win but I'd be happy with Sasha or Becky tbh.

I think I am mostly looking forward to the main event I wanna see how they play that out. I think for me WM32 will be more excitement on the viewing rather than the leading up to with the Rock as presenter and the atmosphere and fireworks etc.

@Dav_RalThat's a really neat way of 'rubbing it in!' :-)

Has anyone seen a leaked script for WM32 yet? :-P;):P

Please take photos! Would love to get an idea of the atmosphere!

@Winbar so... epic trip to WM33? Or some PPV!

Anyway, here's my predictions;

  • Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal: BigShow - Or someone old school.
  • 10-Diva Tag Team Match:  Team Total Divas
  • Tag Team Match: Dudleys
  • WWE United States Championship: Kalisto
  • WWE Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match: Zack Ryder
  • WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Triple H will retain but will maybe lose via DQ.
  • WWE Divas Championship Triple Threat: Becky Lynch (Go Lass kickers!)
  • No Holds Barred Street Fight: Brock Lesnar - Though I think Dean is going to give him a massive run for his money
  • 3 on 4 Handicap Match: League Of Nations + an appearance of a +1 for The New Day to level the playing field maybe?
  • Singles Match: AJ Styles
  • Hell in a Cell Match: Shane McMahon vs The Undertaker - I don't really know what to say here. The recent promos are trying to give an impression that Shane can actually wrestle. He's quick on his feet yes, but he's still fighting the undertaker. I would love the story line dynamic for Shane to take over the company. So I'm hoping for a Undertaker win, but Shane still somehow gets what he wants. Unless something really awful happens like Undertaker gets bought out by Shane to take a fall?

What you gotta do is think about who the good guy is know that the script writers (working under the Vince McMahon directive) will select the bad guy to win, hopefully setting up the premise of a re-match in the next PPV airing.

That's they way these things work ... says he who is looking forward to seeing the WWE next month in Nottingham!

  • Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal: Confirmed So Far - Mark Henry - to finish his career on a high.
  • 10-Diva Tag Team Match:  (Total Divas) Brie Bella, Paige, Natalya, Alicia Fox, Eva Marie - cashing in on that Eva Marie investment
  • Tag Team Match: The Dudley Boyz - Have they won a PPV yet!?
  • WWE United States Championship: Ryback - Heel holding the champs!
  • WWE Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match: Dolph Ziggler - I think its Zigglers turn for a push
  • WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Roman Reigns - Need I explain this choice?
  • WWE Divas Championship Triple Threat: Sasha Banks - Female boss to carry the Divas Revolution
  • No Holds Barred Street Fight: Dean Ambrose - Show that Brock is beatable, then ambrose to go against heel reigns for WHC
  • 3 on 4 Handicap Match: The New Day - LoN is bad... so bad!
  • Singles Match: AJ Styles - Give AJ his WM debut win!
  • Hell in a Cell Match: The Undertaker - Shane needs to go back to run his companies

Be interesting to hear from Dav how much of the audio we heard on TV actually matched what was going on in the stadium, lots of rumours of the anti-Reigns boos being turned down!

Just to jump in, not watched it back yet, but those boos were VERY loud last night, easily 75% of the crowd were against him last night. Maybe edged to 50/50 on the 3 count, but then back to booing again!

Anyway, guess i'd best add the obligatory pics of my seat from yesterday now :) (had to come from the phone, weren't allowed any camera with a lens of 3" in the stadium!)

WOW those seats are amazing! however sadly I remain underwhelmed at the whole event. For me there were very few highlights. I was so disappointed with the Dean/Brock match!

I wasn't overly impressed by the IC Ladder Match, despite a few good moments overall it just felt really 'meh'. I am 99% certain I fell asleep halfway through the Dean/Brock match but caught the extinguisher shenanigans and woke up just before Dean lost and have to agree - little bit underwhelming. But seeing Stone Cold, Mick Foley and Mr. Michaels returning was my highlight of the evening!

No-one wants or has ever wanted Reigns to win. We heard to boo's last year and peoples opinions haven't changed. They really need to turn Reigns to a heel and let Dean take it off him at some point, There are so many more deserving superstars of the title, I don't think Reigns was one of them.

It's time for our Royal Rumble prediction thread. Here's your chance to guess up to 30 people to join this year's rumble, excluding those already confirmed of course.

The deadline for your predictions is 20th January, any entrants confirmed by that point by WWE will not be counted towards the final totals. Therefore at this time, the following entrants cannot be selected, leaving you with 22 guesses to make. You may edit your guesses up until 20th January at which point guesses will be locked.

      Confirmed Entrants
Goldberg Brock Lesnar Big E Kofi Kingston Xavier Woods Chris Jericho Braun Strowman Baron Corbin
And for the fun of it, I'm going to give 500 epic points to the person who gets the most guesses correct.

      It's that time again...

      My Prediction

It's a new year (yes it is) so it's a reset on the PPV prediction thread scores, which finished with @JoeShow as the winner. We already have the Royal Rumble match prediction thread which will be scored separately, so here's the traditional PPV prediction.

      The Card
Kick Off Show Fatal 4-Way Rumble Qualifier: Dudley Boyz vs The Ascension vs Mark Henry & Jack Swagger vs Darren Young and Damien Sandow WWE Divas Championship: Charlotte vs Becky Lynch WWE Tag Team Championship: The Usos vs The New Day WWE Intercontinental Championship Last Man Standing Match: Dean Ambrose vs Kevin Owens WWE United States Championship: Kalisto vs Alberto Del Rio WWE World Heavyweight Championship 30-Superstar Royal Rumble Match: Lots of People
      My Prediction
Kick Off Show Fatal 4-Way Rumble Qualifier: Darren Young and Damien Sandow (I really have no idea but these 2 are as random as any other) WWE Divas Championship: Becky Lynch (but via DQ so no championship change) WWE Tag Team Championship: The Usos (feel The New Day are losing momentum and they're building up the Usos e.g. Slammy win) WWE Intercontinental Championship Last Man Standing Match: Dean Ambrose (so over right now and think there's better plans for KO going towards Wrestlemania) WWE United States Championship: Alberto Del Rio (not going to rebound again to Kalisto so quickly after Raw) WWE World Heavyweight Championship 30-Superstar Royal Rumble Match: Triple H (revenge etc)

epic24 seems so long ago and I haven't been back since. Having taken the 3v3 Rocket League tournament, I'm hungry for more.

      And so...

I have plans to return to epic27 with a new team behind me! I am incredibly excited as epic24 was my first taste of a LAN and I loved every minute of it. It's completely worth the 700 miles round trip and I'm ready to do it all over again!
