Hi,

I will be attending my second EpicLan at the upcoming EpicLan 24 (first was 22), although this time I'm brining daughter and nephew. Not a problem, although becomes a problem when they wish to bring their own gaming chairs. With the inclusion of chairs in particular, it now becomes a nightmare to fit everything in my car. First question would be; is it possible to hire gaming chairs at EpicLan - NOT small little hard wooden chairs that I spotted at EpicLan 22, and if not, would anyone have the capacity to bring a spare gaming chair(s) that they would be willing for me to hire for the event out of interest?

Thank you in advance for any help.

not speaking on behalf of epic here one bit.

but my god when did kids get so picky on what they sit on!, my first Lan i sat on the bloody floor, and later a bean bag that i stole from the exhib hall.

anyway got that out the system, as far as i'm aware Epic don't provide any chair "upgrades" its the steel padded ones and that's your lot. though if epic wanted to provide decent gaming chairs that could be a decent earner for them, and i'd like to see this. as any additional service that folks pay for ultimately improves the event for the rest of us here, meaning it will keep the ticket price lower for longer for everyone.

whilst epic sort that out, you've got a bunch of options:

  1. pillows, put a pillow on the back and one under your bum, bingo, like sitting on a cloud.
  2. rent a van,  £120 for 5 days from enterprise more than enough space for all your crap as well.
  3. courier. epic let a courier deliver to the venue before and after the event.
  4. leave the bambinos at home, come and enjoy a jolly weekend of games.
  5. buy chairs from Argos/PC world and return them to store afterwards

i'm sure theres more options

Hi,

We dont have a chair rental service I'm afraid, though the small wooden ones you may have seen one event aren't used now (they were only used as a one off), they're all padded conference style chairs with a metal frame.

We are discussing rental options with a couple of the gaming chair providers, but nothing is confirmed yet. It's not something we're able to do in house at the moment as our storage and vans are already at capacity.

Thank you for replies. Understand the logistical nightmare bringing gaming chairs alongside your current setup, Boss Man. Hopefully the providers will seriously consider this service.

I am so glad I have a 7 seat Grand C4, even if I give a lift to my wingman I can still carry 2 gaming chairs, big ass towers, all the creature comforts

Me and a mate are attending the Cardiff CS:GO qualifiers. Looking to join a team that needs 2 x mercs.

We've been playing since 1.6 on and off, are part of an online team, and are usually rank LE+

epic24 seems so long ago and I haven't been back since. Having taken the 3v3 Rocket League tournament, I'm hungry for more.

      And so...

I have plans to return to epic27 with a new team behind me! I am incredibly excited as epic24 was my first taste of a LAN and I loved every minute of it. It's completely worth the 700 miles round trip and I'm ready to do it all over again!
